### Net force

When two or more forces act on an object at the same time, the forces combine.

Fnet

### Balanced Forces

Forces that are equal in size and opposite in direction

### Unbalanced forces

Forces that are not equal in size and opposite in direction

### Inertia

The tendancy to resist any change in it's motion

### Newtons first Law

An object moving at a constant velocity keeps moving at the velocity unless an unbalanced net force acts on it

### Law of Inertia

An object at rest will stay at rest unless an unbalanced net force acts on it.

### Newtons second Law

The acceleration of an obejcet is in the same direction as the net force on the object, and that the acceleration can be calculated

### Friction

The force that opposes the sliding motion of 2 surfaces that are touching eachother.

### Static Friction

Force that prevents 2 surfaces from sliding past eachother from rest

### Sliding friction

Force that opposes the motion of 2 surfaces past eachother

### Rolling friction

Force between a rolling surface and the surface it rolls on

### Terminal velocity

Maximum speed an object will reach when falling thru a substance like air

### Gravity

An attractive force between any 2 objects that depends on the masses of the objects and the distance between them

Electromagnetic force, strong nuclear force, and weak nuclear force

### Air resistance

Friction like force that opposes the motion of of objects moving through the air

### Newton's law of Universal Gravitation

Gravitational force increases as the masses of either object increases and the objects move closer
