Why was it easy for Italy to invade Ethiopia?	They had Somaliland and Eritrea either side of Ethiopia, Italy was well equipped,
What land did Italy already own in Africa?	Somaliland and Eritrea
Why did Italy want Ethiopia?	It was the only independant country in Africa, It could be united with Eritrea and Somaliland, They had previously tried and failed to take Ethiopia at the battle of Adowa, Italy had been badly effected by the depression.
How did the League respond to the crisis?	Ordered economic sanctions on Italy.
Why did the League's economic sanctions not work?	It was 6 weeks before they came into action, There was no ban on oil, USA and some members would not take part, Britain wouldn't close the Suez canal which controlled Italian ships with military supplies.
What did Britain and France do behind the League's back?	The created the Hoare-Laval pact which would give two large areas of Ethiopia to Italy if Italy halted the invasion. (It was abandoned when people protested)
How did the Ethipia crisis weaken the League?	It was a failure and gave them a bad reputation, Britain and France went behind the League's back, they got on Mussolini's bad side.
