Quizlet is One! And Sneak Preview of new Learn Mode

Hey everyone. I’m back!

And guess what today is? …. Quizlet’s birthday! Quizlet launched to the world on January 17, 2007. And I’m very proud to say Quizlet surpassed 100,000 registered users a week before turning one.

The new learn mode on Quizlet
I’ve been working on a new version of the Learn mode for quite a while now, and I was hoping to have it out for the big b-day, but that’s not happening. But you do get this awesome sneak peek video of what it’s going to look like! I’m hoping to release it in the next two weeks or so. It still needs a lot of testing and quality assurance.

And in case you’ve been keeping score at home, I’ve been accepted at MIT. Lots of good news these days :)

    In other news, have you worked on making an API anymore? I’d really love to see one, so I can integrate it with my school’s Moodle.

    Neil: some speed issues, but that’s not the main thing. This new version will not stall like the current one does, so that’s a huge plus. All the movement might get choppy on older computers, so I have some more testing to do there. The video is choppy because it only shoots at 15fps.

    API, Forums: in the future, no timeframe though. A lot depends on how busy I am next semester.

    Does MIT have a football time? - Yes, but you can probably guess how good they are (Hint: not very)

    I’m going to continue with Quizlet in college. I will continue to build features, and probably college will give me a new perspective on what it should do…

    i like that you can put in accents on the new learn mode, i use quizlet for french a lot! this will definitely help make it easier and more beneficial rather than copying and pasting everytime i need an accent on a letter. Thanks!

    Fantastic, Andrew! MIT’s a great school – I hope you really enjoy it (and keep me updated!)

    The new learn feature is very exciting – great visual effects, and very clean. I’d imagine the backend has gotten revamped as well, eh? The one feature I would ask you add is a field to re-enter the term if you get it wrong once you see the correct term (not counting as an answer, though). This would be great as an option, because I often find myself not learning the correct terms quite as fast as I’d like, completely forgetting them by the time they come up again. And it should be pretty easy to implement ;)
