This works very well the majority of the time, but sometimes clearly undesirable advertisements come through. We do our best to remove these as soon as we see them or they are reported by users.

If you spot anything you think is inappropriate, or encounter any other problems, please note the URL that the ad leads to and let us know immediately.

Want to advertise your website or service on Quizlet? Now you can, through Google’s AdWords advertising program.

You can even target Quizlet users in a specific geographic area, or only those who use Quizlet to study a specific subject (e.g. Spanish). And there’s no minimum budget for advertising on Quizlet – you can spend as much or as little as you find effective for your business.

Here’s how to get started:

1) If you don’t already have one, create a Google Adwords account here: https://adwords.google.com/

2) You’ll be prompted by Google to set up your first ad campaign, which you might want to call “Quizlet Campaign”. It may take a few minutes to get set up and familiarize yourself with the Adwords system, but it’s worth it!

3) One you’ve set up your campaign, go in and change the settings, so that instead of showing your ads on Google Search and Search Partners, they only show on “The Content Network,” and specifically on “Relevant pages only on the placements I target.” Once you’ve changed these settings, within each ad group you create (for example ‘Quizlet French Pages’), you will see a Placements tab. Click “Find and Add Placements” at the bottom, and then type Quizlet.com into the ‘List URLs’ box. You’ll then see a list of the ad placements that Quizlet offers. Select the ones you want to try.

4) Note that Quizlet accepts text ads – the standard Google ads, and also the more distinctive image ads, so long as they are 200 by 200 pixels. These will get you the most visibility on Quizlet. We also offer you a choice of advertising only on specific areas of the Quizlet site (e.g. by study subject or by ad position). And if you want to reach students in a specific geographic area, you can target that way as well.

5) If you’re just getting started with Google Adwords, you may want to visit Google’s Adwords learning center (http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/) and watch a few of the videos, which show how simple advertising this way can be. Once you’ve set up your ads, they’ll start running on Quizlet immediately. Good luck, and let us know if you encounter any problems.
