MinoansA Cretan civilization which flourished from 2700 to 1450 BCE before being conquered by the Mycenaeans.
MycenaeansThe last great civilization of Greece. Flourished from 1600 BCE to 1100 BCE before the dark age of Greece. It started in the mainland and spread to Crete. Its fall was attributed to the Dorian invasion.
Dorian Invasion1100 BCE - 900 BCE. The spread of Dorian culture that took Greece a step back intellectually.
PolisCity-state. Taken from 'Acropolis' which most big cities centered around.

HopliteHeavily armed Greek soldier. Hoplites made up the Phalanx formation.
