Using Voice Recording

You must be a Quizlet Teacher or Quizlet Plus member to use Voice Recording. Learn more about upgrading.

Getting started

VR-set-page

Click on the mic icon to the right of the terms and definitions on any set you've created on Quizlet.

waiting

Quizlet will ask to access to your computer's microphone. Please click on the allow button (the location varies by browser but Quizlet will point to it).

ready-to-record

Now you're ready to record your voice for the term on the screen. A microphone icon on the right will respond to the noise level so that you can check that your computer's microphone is working correctly.

Recording

To start recording, hold down the space bar. Speak and then release the space bar when you're finished.

Your recording will then be played back to you. If you'd like to re-record, hold down space bar again.

When you're happy with your recording, either go onto the next term or switch to the other side to record the definition or other language next.

Finishing

Once you've recorded all your terms, you need to label your recording.

Add some details to your set description like "Now with Hebrew audio" or "With a Brazilian accent" so that other users will know what they're listening to.

Supported Browsers and Devices

Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer 9 through Edge are all supported. For Safari and Internet Explorer, you must have Flash installed for it to work. If you have IE 8, please update your browser.

This feature is not yet available on the mobile apps or through the mobile website.

Troubleshooting

Please make sure that your microphone is on and that your computer's speakers are on too. For a more extensive list of problems, click here.
