Working at Quizlet
We are looking for generalist engineers with taste. At Quizlet, you can be an early foundational team member on a product that is going to positively impact the lives of millions of students. Quizlet is successful already but it's basic, and our opportunity is to tackle extremely ambitious projects that enable novel learning experiences.
We regularly go to classrooms around the Bay Area to test our tools and gather feedback. We aim for nothing short of delight from the students who use our tools.
Our small team of engineers moves quickly, deploying code dozens of times a day.
Examples of what we're doing
Designing multiplayer learning games - We are designing creative writing games that enable students to learn from examples written by their peers. We expect our engineers to be the primary drivers of the design and testing of our learning tools.
Infrastructure and Scaling - We are the 101st largest website in the U.S., according to Quantcast. Billions of requests a week run through our infrastructure, and we keep our average response time under 100 ms. We have challenges in maintaining highly available and redundant systems that can support our rapid growth.
Natural Language Processing projects - Millions of students learn the meaning of words on Quizlet. If our software had a better understanding of language, grammar, and effective word usage, we could build much more powerful and interesting learning tools.
