  1. ㄱ: Pronounced as "k" as in "kitchen". When preceded by vowels pronounced as "g" as in "guess". When preceded by "ㅁ", "ㄴ" or "ㄹ" is pronounced as "ng".
  2. ㄲ: Double "k"
  3. ㄴ: Pronounced as "n" as in "nanny".
  4. ㄷ: Pronounced as "t" as in "toad". When preceded by vowels is pronounced as "d". When preceded by "ㅁ", "ㄴ" or "ㄹ" is pronounced as "n".
  5. ㄸ: Double "t"
  6. ㄹ: Pronounced as "l" as in "ladle". Pronounced as "r" when between vowels. When preceded by any constant besides "ㄴ" as "ㄴ".
  7. ㅁ: Pronounced as "m" as in "mother".
  8. ㅂ: Pronounced as "p" as in "potty". When preceded by vowels is pronounced as "b".When preceded by "ㅁ", "ㄴ" or "ㄹ" is pronounced as "m".

  12. ㅇ: Has no sound when it precedes a vowel. When in last position is pronounced as "ng" as in "bring".
  13. ㅈ: Prounced as "ch" as in "chamber". When preceded by vowels is pronounced as "j".
  14. ㅉ: Double "j"
  15. ㅊ: Aspirated "ch" (Romanized as ch')
  16. ㅋ: Aspirated "k" (Romanized as k')
  17. ㅌ: Aspirated "t" (Romanized as t')
  18. ㅍ: Aspirated "p" (Romanized as p')
  19. ㅎ: Pronounced as "h" as in "hope". Sometimes not pronounced. When occuring as last consonant in syllable, following k's, t's, p's and ch's are aspirated.

  26. ㅕ: Pronounced as "you" as in "young". Romanized as "yeo".
  27. ㅖ: Pronounced as "ye" as in "yay".
  28. ㅗ: Pronounced as "o" as in "so".
  29. ㅘ: Pronounced as "wa" as in "wag".
  30. ㅙ: Pronounced as "wae" as in "way".
  31. ㅚ: Pronounced like "we" in "wet". Romanized as "oe".
