- Progressive Era: time period when reform was popular (late 1800's to early 1900's)
- Prohibition: also called temperance, 18th amendment made it illegal to make, buy, sell, or possess alcohol
- Pure Food and Drug Act: the federal government inspects food and tests medicines before people can use them.
