  1. 12m Fan: semi- circle around the goal used to administer minor fouls
  2. 8 Meter Arc: area in front of the goal used to administer major fouls, defender cant stay here for more than 3 seconds unless she in within a sticks length of her opponent
  3. Attack (Offense), Attack Wings: transition the ball from defense to attack (offense), should have speed and endurance and to be ready to receive the ball from the defense and run or pass the ball, marked by defense wings
  4. Attack (Offense), First Home: score, should have good stick work, located in front of goal, marked by defense point
  5. Attack (Offense), Second Home: the playmaker, shoot well from any angle and distance, marked by coverpoint
  6. Attack (Offense), Third Home: transition the ball from defense to attack (offense), marked by third man
  7. Center: play both defense and attack, should have speed and endurance

  16. Defense, Wings: mark attack wings, bring the ball into attack area, should have speed and endurance
  17. Deputy: player who enters the goal circle when the goalie is not and her team has possession of the ball
  18. Draw: begins the game/play, the ball is placed between two back-to-back sticks
  19. Free Position: awarded to offense when a major or minor foul is committed by defense, everyone backs up 4m from the player with the ball
  20. Game Time: 50 minutes long, each half is 25 minutes, two timeouts per team per game (including overtime)
  21. Goal Circle: 2.6m radius around goal that no one can enter
  22. Goalie: protect the goal, should have good stick work and confidence
  23. Goalie Equipment: face mask, helmet, mouth guard, and throat and chest protectors
  24. Grounded: goalkeeper's or deputy's body that touches the ground outside the goal circle in an attempt to play the ball from inside the goal circle
  25. Indirect Free Position: awarded to offense when a minor foul has been committed by defense inside the 12m fan
  26. Marking: being within a sticks length of an opponent
  27. Passing: the fastest way to get the ball down the field
  28. Penalty Line: path to goal that is cleared when a free position is awarded to the attacking team
  29. Players/ Positions: 12 players, 1 goalie, 5 attackers, 6 defenders
  30. Scoring Play: continuous effort by attacking team to move the ball toward the goal and complete a shot on goal
  31. Shoot: push the head of the stick forward, and pull the shaft back
  32. Sphere: aprox 18cm sphere that surrounds a players head
  33. Stand: all player must remain stationary following the sound of any whistle
  34. Warning Cards: yellow card- indicates a red card next. red card- suspended. green card- given to captain for delay of game
