Term Definition
Pitch The highness and lowness of sound.
volume The loudness of a sound.
Sound Discrimination Identifying sounds as different from one another.
Vibration A shaking back and forth movement.
Sound Source Anything that vibrates as in a way that makes sound. Example: a voice
Sound Receiver Something that detects, responds to, or hears a sound.
Frequency When a vibration is fast, we say it has a high frequeny. When a vibration is slow, we say it has a low frequency.
Megaphone Can collect and focus sound energy to amplify it at the sound of the receiver.
Tension The force pulling on an object in opposite directions.
Amplify/Amplification This is when you make a sound louder or turn up the volume.
