Quartering Act |
(def.) Colonists had to provide housing and food for British settlers. They also had to pay for all of their needs. The soldiers were there to enforce the Proclamation of 1763. (sig.) this enfuriated the colonists. |

Militia |
(def.) a body of citizens enrolled for military service, and called out periodically for drill but serving full time only in emergencies. (sig.) The continental congress advised the colonists to form a militia. |
