Cerebrum Largest part of the brain; composed of hemispheres. Controls conscious activities--intelligence, memory, emotions, voluntary muscle movement, personality
Corpus Callosum Connects right and left cerebral hemispheres and maintains communication between them
Cerebellum Located in the back of the brain. Regulates posture, balance, muscle tone; coordinates voluntary muscle movement
Brain Stem Composed of the pons, midbrain and medulla oblongata. Pons and midbrain act as pathways to different parts of the brain. The medulla oblongata controls involuntary activities such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure
