Dark Age |
The Mycenaean Age started to decline in 1100 BC---Not sure why. Invasions started and Greece declined—known as the Dark Age c 1100 BC-750BC. There was no writing, no trade—only isolated villages. |

Age of Expansion |
IN 800 BC the alphabet was used based on the Phoenician. In 700 BC Homer wrote the Odyssey—one of the most important literary achievement of the Greeks. Isolated cities of the Dark ge grew and trade increased-------turned into city-states. Food and farming caused boundary disputes. Many new city states were formed. The Age of Expansion started c. 600-500 BC. |
