Osmolarity the concentration of all solute particles in a solution.
Osmosis the movement of water across a semi-permiable membrane from an area of high concentration of non-penetrating particles to an area of low concentration of non-penetrating particles
Tonicity Defined by the nature of the solute that either prevents or promotes osmosis from occuring to a cell
