Speaker tries to make you think there is a good reason to take favorable action within a definite (usuaully shout) time peroid. |

Makes you think that you will get something for nothing. |

Assumes you'll pay something but tries to make you think what you'll get is worth more than you paid for it. |

"Glittering Generality" |
When a speaker uses words or phrases which are attractive but he doesn't mention specific details. |

"Innuenedo" |
Whenever the speaker uses words in such a way that he hints indirectly (but doesn't come out in the open about it) that the person he is talking about has something to hide |

Whenever the speaker tries to get you to agree with him by referring to certian people as parts of an undesirable large mass or group rather than as indivuals. (emotionally instead of logically) |

Presenting only one side of the issue. |

Leaves out some of the problems you might run into if you go along with his idea. |

Speaker tries to make you think that going along with his idea will somehow make you more noteworthy than the average perosn. |
