Globalization is taking place in our world. This means that more and more of the world's nations are becoming linked by trade. Cheap labor is driving globalization. More people, money, and goods than ever are crossing national borders. Technology is also shrinking the world. For example, the internet, a relatively new form of technology, is shrinking the world as people communicate with countries never possible before the introduction of email and internet chatrooms. |

Traditional Economy |

Command Economy |
the government makes all economic decisions. Individuals have little or no say about what goods to produce or services to produce, or even how to produce them. Communism applies to command economy. the government will also control how much something may cost and which people will receive particular training for a job. |

Market Economy |
individuals make their own decisions on what to produce, how to produce it and for whom to produce it. people and businesses make what they think customers will want.(supply) consumers have choices on what to buy. (demand) prices are determined by this. Example- a business may start fishing and selling fish because they feel that people are demanding fish more than they used to. |

The difference between these two types of farming is that commercial farming, instead of growing only the amount of crop you need for your own family like subsistence farming, is actually growing crops for the opposite reason. The crops grown in commerical farming are for sale in markets, as opposed to the food in subsistence farming that is grown for only a family's needs. |
