Term Definition
quipu knotted strings where government officials would note information about births, deaths, taxes, harvests. Every item had a different colored string while numbers had different sizes of rope. A quipu was made up of a main cord with several different colored cords attached.
terrace Step-like ledges that cut into mountainside so it could be used for crops. Also they stopped soil from being washed away by rain
cuzco a small village high in the Andes where the Incas settled. It was once the capital of the Incan empire but is now a Peruvian city
