How and why did Titania fall in love with Bottom?
Titania fell asleep and Oberon sprinkles magic love juice on her eyelids (that Puck found for him) so that she falls in love with the first creature she sees. She wakes up and sees Bottoms, whose head has been turned into a donkey. In page 29 she says "What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?" causing Bottom to sing. She then makes her fairies grant his wishes and eventually wins him over, following her.
Why and how is Puck important in the play?
-Puck is a fairy of Oberon and finds the flower potion for him. He causes trouble and uses the potion on many characters, which then led to trouble. He used it on Titania, which made her love Bottom. He then used it on Lysander, and he fell in love with Helena. He is a main character in the story, and is very important in the events that happen.
Describe how Helena felt when Lysander confessed his love to her.
She thought that he was lying to her and making fun of her. Puck had put the flower potion on Lysander's eyes. When he awoke, the first person he saw was Helena, and therefore he fell in love with her. When Helena realized this, she thought he was making fun of her, and was wondering why she was being mocked. Helena thought it was a joke and he was not serious.
Analyze why Puck thought Lysander was Demetrius.
Hermia was laying on the ground beside where Lysander was asleep so Puck thought it was Demetrius mistreating Helena. In the book Puck says "Through the forest I have gone, but Athenian found I none, on whose eyes O might approve this flower's force in stirring love. NIght and silence. - Who is here? Weeds of Athens he doth wear: this is he my master said despised the Athenian maid: And here the maiden, sleeping sound on the dank and dirty ground, Pretty soul! she durst not lie near this lack-love, this kill courtesy. Churl, upon thy eyes I throw all the power this charm doth owe. When thou wakest, let love forbid sleep his seat on thy eyelid: so awake when I am gone; for I must now to Oberon."
Analyze what happened when Titania woke up.
She heard Bottom's voice and when she saw him, she fell in love with him. She woke up saying "What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?". She fell in love with his voice when he started singing saying " Thou art as wise as thou art beautiful." She then said how her fairies will attend him. She only fell in love with him because they put the magic juice on her.
Describe what happened when Oberon ordered Puck to squeeze the love flower on two people.
He wandered around for a while looking for the two people and couldn't find them. He eventually seen Hermia and Lysander and squeezed the love flower over Lysander's eyes.
Describe the purpose of the potion?
The purpose of the potion is to give the story a twist and change up how love in the beginning of the story to change fate and outcome. The potion is meant to make someone fall in love with the first thing or person that person sees. It is also used to mess around with other characters. Oberon uses the potion on Titania to try to make her love the first wild creature she sees. This potion is used both helping and hurting people with love.
Describe and analyze the end of Act 3.
At the end of Act 3 Lysander fell in love with Helena after waking up after receiving the potion and sees Helena and falls deeply in love, Hermia goes looking for Lysander, she doesn't know where he went.
Describe how the flower juice affected the characters.
The flower juice took effect on Lysander, Titania, and Demetrius. It was first put on Titania to fall in love with the first creature she would see and it would be Bottom's butthead. Then Puck used the flower juice on Lysander and Demetrius who then fell in love with Helena, moving on from Hermia. Accidentally Puck mistakened the plan and Helena becomes angry as she thinks they're mocking her. They eventually want to fight for Helena, and things get out of control.In the story, Puck says "This is the women, but not the man."
Critique how Helena reacted to the love that Lysander and Demetrius offered her.
Lysander is the first to be possessed and fall in love with Helena, after Demetrius falls in love with Helena. Helena is shocked and thinks she is being fooled by Hermia.
Describe the difficulties of love that are faced in Act 3 and in the story.
Lysander is in love with Hermia but is affected by the love potion. Titania is also affected by the potion. Demetrius is heart-broken as well as Helena. Helena tries to chase after Demetrius when he told her Lysander and Hermia's plan to see if he would like her. She kept insisting to let her stay with him but Demetrius wanted her to go and leave him alone because he didn't want nothing to do with Helena.
Analyze how Bottom reacts to Titania's sudden love:
He tries to play it off as a joke because he's confused and he doesn't really understand why she's into him.
Describe the purpose of the love potion in act 3.
The purpose of the love potion is to try and get one of the main characters coupled up. Example is Demetrius falling in love with Helena, after Puck put potion on his eyelids
Explain in detail, how Titania fell in love with Bottom?
She fell in love with Bottom when she woke up after Oberon buts love potion over her eyes, to see what appears to be a donkey head on top of a human, who happens to be Bottom.
What does the play symbolize in Act 3, scene 1?
It symbolizes chaos and unprepared, because while going over the play Puck come in and changes Bottom's head to have the rest of the play members run away scared.
