tragic hero
A literary character who makes an error of judgment or has a fatal flaw that, combined with fate and external forces, brings on a tragedy
Hamartia
tragic flaw which causes a character's downfall
Hubris
Excessive pride or self-confidence
catharsis
An emotional discharge that brings about a moral or spiritual renewal or welcome relief from tension and anxiety
deus ex machina
an unrealistic or unexpected intervention to rescue the protagonists or resolve the conflict. The term means ""The god out of the machine"" and refers to stage machinery
strophe
Chanted as the chorus moves across the stage from RIGHT TO LEFT.
antistrophe
The inversion of terms in successive classes, as in "the home of joy and the joy of home".
