Blank desktop database template
Click this template at the Access 2013 opening screen to create a new database.
Quick Access Toolbar
This toolbar contains buttons for commonly used commands.
Navigation Pane
This displays the names of objects within a database grouped by categories.
Datasheet view
When you open a table, it displays in this view.
Record Navigation bar
Use buttons on this bar to navigate in a table.
Records
To add a new record, click the New button in this group on the HOME tab.
Quick Print
At the Print backstage area, click this button to send the table directly to the printer.
Page Layout
The Landscape button is located in this group on the PRINT PREVIEW tab.
Record
All fields for one unit, such as an employee or customer, are considered to be this.
Currency
Assign this data type to values that involve money.
Data type
Click this button in the Properties group on the TABLE TOOLS FIELDS tab to display the Enter Field Properties dialog box.
Quick Start
With options in this category in the More Fields button drop-down list, you can define a data type and also assign a field name.
Name & Caption button
If you want to assign the same field value to a column, click this button to display the Expression Builder dialog box and then type the desired value.
Join
In Access, one table can be related to another, which is generally referred to as performing this.
Primary Key
A database table can contain a foreign key field and this type of key field.
Design
Open a table, click the View button on the HOME tab, and the table displays in this view.
Primary
In a one-to-many relationship, the table containing the "one" is referred to as this.
Related

Referential Integrity

This is the term used for the results of the query.

Use this symbol to indicate a wildcard character when writing a query criterion.
>500
This is the criterion you would type to return filed values greater than $500.
"L*"
This is the criterion you would type to return field values that begin with the letter L.
Not "Oregon"
This is the criterion you would type to return field values that are not in Oregon.
Descending
You can sort a field in a query in ascending order or in this order.
And
Multiple criteria entered in the Criteria row in the query design grid become this type of statement.
Simple Query Wizard
This wizard guides you through the steps for preparing a query.
Crosstab Query
This type of query calculates aggregate functions, in which field values are grouped by two fields.
Find Unmatched Query
Use this type of query to compare two tables and produce a list of the records in one table that have no matching records in the other table.
Field Properties Section
The lower half of the work area in Design view that displays the properties for the active field is referred to as this.
Autonumber
When you create a new table in Design view, Access automatically assigns the first field the name ID and assigns this data type.
Status Bar

Font size
Click this button to change the text size of data in a table.
Center
Click this button to align all text in the active column in the center of the fields.
Alternate Row Color
Click this button to specify a color for alternating rows in a table.
Replace
Use options at the Find and Replace dialog box with this tab selected to search for specific data and replace it with other data.
F1
