A Truth
a true statement. something a statement has when it matches reality
Moral Statements
Moral truths- stealing is wrong, you shouldn't lie, don't commit murder.
Nonmoral truths- the world is round, the sky's blue, mizzou is in missouri
Objective Statements
fact. can be objectively false. the truth or falsity of the statement is not determined solely by our feelings, beliefs, or attitudes. made true at least partly by things other than moral skepticism.
Subjective Statements
I believe. the truth of falsity of the statement is not determined solely by our feelings, beliefs or other attitudes. made true solely (or largely) by out having certain mental properties.
Ethical Objectivism
1) no matter how carefully we observe an action, we can't detect any moral properties in it.
2) If (1) is true, then we should not believe in ethical objectivism.
