Regression
statistical procedure that is used to examine relationships between continuous variables
Regression Models
make the assumption that noise is normally distributed
One sample t-test
You need ONE CONTINUOUS VARIABLE
One-Way ANOVA
You need ONE CONTINUOUS VARIABLE and ONE CATEGORICAL VARIABLE with any number of categories
Two way (factorial) ANOVA
You need ONE CONTINUOUS DEPENDENT VARIABLE and TWO (or more) CATEGORICAL IV
Within-participants (repeated measures) ANOVA
You need CONTINUOUS DV, ONE (or more) CATEGORICAL IV, and a PARTICIPANT VARIABLE (which is categorical: each person is their own category)
Single Regression (fitted regression)
You need TWO CONTINUOUS VARIABLES (one will be treated as DV and the other as IV)
Multiple regression
You need ONE CONTINUOUS DV and TWO OR MORE CONTINUOUS IV
Correlation
You need TWO CONTINUOUS VARIABLES OR MORE. Often done with many variables at once, with them being done between each pari of variables
One way chi squared
You need ONE CATEGORICAL VARIABLE
Two way chi squared
You need TWO CATEGORICAL VARIABLES.
