What are the differences between the New England colonies and the rest of the colonies?
Anne Hutchinson and Robert Williams were banished from the Massachusetts Bay colony. Roger Williams was banished because he believe that we should have religious freedom and that the government should not make laws about religion. He wanted the government and church to be separate. After he was banished he founded Rhode Island where everyone had religious freedom.
Anne Hutchinson was banished because she held meetings in her house were both men and women could vote. She also spoke out against Puritan ministers.
What is civic virtue and why is it important in a town meeting?
Civic virtue is good citizenship. It was important because it helps keep peace and helped to make sure everybody had respect, everyone could be heard, and it was an easier to solve problems if everyone had civic virtue.
