Advantages: They are easy to learn and use, they are good for storing and crunching relatively small volumes of numerical data, They have the ability to present numerical data in graphical form to quickly analyze data. Disadvantages: Records and files may have redundant data, Simplistic sorting and querying capabilities, Files can contain in only a finite number of records, Changes to data are made in computer memory and are not saved until the file is saved.

A database is a data structure that stores organized data. Advantages: Multiple people can use the data the data simultaneously, The data can be protected against inadvertent corruption, You no longer need to keep redundant data, A database can hold as many records as desired until you reach t's gigabyte storage limit. Disadvantages: More difficult to use and learn, Systems are complex, difficult and time-consuming, Software costs are higher, databases are used daily.
