A covenant is a promise. The two covenants that God made with his people are with Abraham and Moses. In Abraham's covenant God received his people and Abraham received a child and a lot of descendants. In Moses covenant God received law for his people (Ten Commandments) and Moses received being part of he holy nation. Each covenant assures us of God's love and fidelity because it shows that though Moses and Abraham went through hardships, God was watching out for them and created miracles.

The accounts of human sinfulness in the Book of Genesis are Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and the Flood, and the Tower of Babel. God shows his mercy in compassion in several ways. One way is after he banished Cain he kept a mark on him so he wouldn't be harmed. Another way is he told Noah how to build the ark to save the good.
