The three steps for developing a market position (or for developing any strategy, really) are?
a. Figure out where you are now, figure out where you want to end up, develop a plan to get you from where you are to where you want to be.
b. Define the problem, hire consultants, implement their recommendations.
c. Ready, fire, aim.
d. Determine your current situation, do a cost/benefit analysis of the desirability of changing, implement and evaluate the plan.
e. Determine which positions look attractive, select the position you want to achieve, develop a plan to achieve the position.
