Heterogeneous Mixture
Mixture of pure substances that are unevenly distributed
Homogeneous Mixture
Mixture of pure substances that are EVENLY distributed
Physical Property
A characteristic of a pure substance that CAN BE observed WITHOUT changing it into another substance (ex. water to ice...)
Chemical Property
A characteristic of a pure substance that describes its ABILITY to change into different substances (ex. rust)
Solution
An example of a homogeneous mixture (ex. brass is a solution of copper & zinc!)
Physical change
any change that that alters the form or appearance of a substance but does not turn it into another substance.
Chemical Change
a change in matter that produces one or more new substances
