He dies, and this affects the reader, because when Argos finally gets to see his master (Odysseus) he dies, and this makes the audience sad
why does homer include Argos dying in the story
he adds the epic to the story because he wants to show how he recognized his master, and putting a plot twist of Argos dying. He wanted this to happen, because he wants to show the audience how sensitive Odysseus is, because he cries when Argos dies.
How do the suitors treat Odysseus? How does Penelope treat Odysseus?
The suitors make fun of Odysseus because he's really into his bow, and Penelope treats him with respect and supports him

It shows that the suitors and rude and disrespectful, and that Penelope is caring and kind and wants Odysseus her husband back
