The Annals by Roman historian and senator Tacitus is a history of the Roman Empire from the reign of Tiberius to that of Nero, the years AD 14-68. The Annals are an important source to modern understanding of the history of the Roman Empire during the first century. The Annals is Tacitus' final work.
How did St. Augustine contribute to the orthodox ideas of the early church?
His writings were influential in the development of Western Christianity. In these writings, he claimed that the world and worldly cities were made up of individuals who were constantly in struggle between selves. Those people in whom the spiritual dominated belonged to a City of God, while those in whom the earth dominated belonged to a City of Earth.
