10 Commandments
the Old Law or Decalogue, the laws of Moses that were given to him on Mount Sinai, the revelation of moral law to us through Scripture and Tradition. It portrays the relationship of God with his Chosen people and taught the Israelites hot live in loving relationship with God and one another

our vocation as Christians, the goal of our existence, living through these allows us to bring meaning to our moral choices and helps to guide us in making these choices
Covenant
a solid agreement between human beings or between God and a human being in which mutual commitments are made (i.e. Noah's Ark)

Resurrection
the passage of Jesus from death to life "on the third day" after his Crucifixion, it serves as the heart of the Paschal mystery and the bassi of our hope in teh resurrection of the dead
Spiritual Soul
our spiritual principle, it is immortal, and it is what makes us most like God. It is created by God, and he unites it with our physical body at the moment of conception. The soul is the seat of human consciousness and freedom
Tempations
invitations or enticements to commit an unwise or immoral act that often include a promise of a reward, to make the immoral act seem more appealing
Conscience
"interior voice" of a person, a God-given internal sense of what is morally wrong or right
Sin
any deliberate offense in thought, word, or deed, against the will of God
Rebellion
going against God in all ways whether be against God's laws or plan for us.
Missing the Mark
going a stray from God's will though usually not intentionally, helps to make us aware of God's grace in our lives and that we cannot overcome sin on our own power
Omission
failure to do something required by God's moral law
Salvation
liberation from sin and eternal union with God in heaven, it is accomplished by God alone through the paschal mystery
Mortal Sin
action against the will of God that completely seperates us from grace, usually involves a grave matter and has the intention of commitment
Venial Sin
sins that do not destroy our relationship with God but do damage it
Social Sin
the collective effect of many personal sins over time which in turns corrupts society and creates a "structure of sin"
7 Deadly Sin
pride, greed, gluttony, sloth, envy, lust, and anger
Virtues
a habit and firm disposition to do good
Vices
practice or habit that leads a person to sin
