What do white blood cells do to defend against pathogens?
A small amount of inactiv or dead pathogen is injected into your body. Your white blood cells produce antibodies to destroy the pathogen and you then have aquired immunity to the particular pathogen as the white blood cells are sensitised to it.
Describe a vaccination
antibiotics kill infective bacterial pathogens inside the body but they don't kill viruses as they arn't in fact alive to begin with. Also viruses reproduce inside making in hard to develop a drug without damaging the body own tissue
What do antibiotics do and what can't they kill?
when a pathogen mutates, producing a new strain. This strain may be resistant to antibiotics so it spreads rapidly as there is no treatment

overuse of antibiotics and prescribing inappropriate antibiotics
