Describe: Blacks attempted to register as voters.
Significance/Impact: Were denied and gained support for voting rights.
March on Selma
Date: 1965
Describe: Planned march into Montgomery, which was the most segregated city on the Edmund Pettus Bridge.
Significance/Impact: Huge step towards integration, led to Civil Rights Act, and wanted voting rights.

Describe: Prohibits racial discrimination in voting.
Significance/Impact: Allowed African Americans to secure their long wanted voting rights.
