Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in your will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Galatians 5:16, 22-23

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Skip's confession of faith prayer
"Lord, I give You my life. I know I'm a sinner. Please forgive me. I trust Jesus, who died on the Cross, who shed His blood for me, and who rose from the dead. I turn from my sin. I turn to You as my Savior. Help me to follow You as Lord. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Give me Your power. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Thomas Merton quote

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
I have brought You glory on earth by completing the work You gave me to do.
Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him."

And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age."
