Frontal lobe
a region of the cerebral cortex that has specialized areas for movement, abstract thinking, planning, memory, and judgment
Parietal lobe
portion behind the frontal lobe, responsible for sensations such as pain, temperature, and touch
Occipital lobe
portion of the cerebral cortex lying at the back of the head; visual areas
Temporal lobe
portion of the cerebral cortex lying roughly above the ears; includes the auditory areas, each receiving information primarily from the opposite ear
the "little brain" attached to the rear of the brainstem; it helps coordinate voluntary movement and balance
