Gravity from the Sun and Inertia...inertia is the tendency of a moving object to keep moving in a straight line.

How is gravity impacted when the distance between two objects decreases?
Gravity's pull increases as the distance between two objects decreases...the closer the 2 objects are, the more gravitational pull.
What affects the force of gravity?
Gravity's force is affected by the mass of the two objects and how far apart they are.
What keeps artificial satellites in orbit around the Earth?
The pull of gravity towards the sun is balanced by the satellites forward motion.
What characteristics do planets that are further from the Sun have in common?
The farther planets are bigger, have rings, and have gas rather rock for their surface materials.
Be familiar with the sun. What gases make it up? Which is the hottest layer? How would you determine the mass?
Made of mostly hydrogen & helium. The core is the hottest layer. Mass is determined by the length of time it takes for a planet to make around the sun, and the distance between the planet & the sun.
