Describe Glottal Area Wave
Used with high speed motion picture photography. The photography frames are plotted on a graph called a glottal area wave. When the glottis was closed, it would receive a zero on the graph. In normal phonation, you can get a wave like depiction on the graph depicting the opening and closing of the VF

no, but when the person is loud, then the pattern changes. In soft phonation there is a quick opening and slow closing with a brief stay together. When the person is loud, there is a slow opening, a fast closing so that the speed of closing caused a great impact when the two folds come together and the folds tay together longer to build up so the puff can strike the column longer.
