Cylinders of spongy tissue that
run along the inside of the
penis. Highly vascular, blood
fills this tissue (which stiffens)
when aroused producing a
Corproa Canvernosa: Much
smaller connective tissue that
houses the urethra.
Urethra: Tube that carries
fluid through the penis
(connected to both the bladder
Vas deferens: Connecting tube between
testicles and ejaculatory duct (connects
Spermatic Cord: Suspends testicle
inside the scrotum, vas deferens, blood
vessels and nerves.
Cremaster Muscle: Attaches to
spermatic cord. Raises and lowers
testicle in response to weather/arousal.
Seminal Vesicle: Glands behind the
bladder that secrete fluids that combine
with sperm to form ejaculate.
Fluid high in fructose to nourish
sperm to increase motility on their
Cowper's Glands: Secrete lubrication
for sperm. Clear, sticky ―pre-come‖ that
precedes ejaculation. May contain sperm,
making the withdrawal method dicey.
Prostate Gland: Chestnut sized gland
that produces milky, alkaline fluid that
neutralizes the acid from urine along the
urethra and vaginal canal.
Ejaculate is a combination of several fluids:
Seminal fluid (not sperm) (70%), cowper's
fluid & prostate fluid (29%), and sperm
(1%). The typical payload of ejaculate is
about a teaspoon, usually not more than a
tablespoon and contains 200 to 400 million
It is not harmful to ingest, with a salty
quality. It is impossible to become pregnant
in the event that ejaculate is swallowed.
The fourth phase of the sexual response cycle, during which
the body gradually returns to its pre-aroused state
Refractory period: Period of time following an orgasm during which
an individual is no longer responsive to sexual stimulation
Men experience in varying degrees
Younger men have much shorter periods (minutes to hours), while
older men may take days.
Resolution takes longer when people do not reach orgasm
Blood is released from engorged areas, myotonia dissipates,
and blood pressure, heart rate, & respirations return to
Please note that there are two different graphs for men and women.
Male: Red line is typical, one orgasm and orgasm and then (generally) fall
Some men, after a refractory period, may achieve a second orgasm before
Female: Red line women like men. Green line who are capable of staying
in the plateau and orgasm stages for quite a bit of time.
Note also the blue line. For many women, they do not achieve orgasm from
intercourse alone. And, women are much more likely to say that they can
enjoy and be satisfied by sex that does not lead to orgasm.
As their physiology is different, many women report that the "best sex" is
when they achieve orgasm before intercourse.

relationships with people who are
similar to themselves
Such as physical attractiveness,

Matching can apply to similarity in
ethnicity, age, educational level,
Exceptions occur when lack of
attractiveness is compensated

Similarity more important for
women than men
