Indian National Congress
Started as a national movement for independence, then it became a political party after India won independence, they dominated the Indian political scene, maintained being the most powerful party. It represented more Hindu interests than Muslim interests, so they left and created their own political party called the Muslim league.
He tried to unify the Hindus and the Muslims and called for non violent peaceful protesting.

Treaty of Nanjing
Gave the British essentially everything they wanted and forced the Chinese to accept Britain's presence in their country on Britain's terms. British nationals were subject only to British law regardless if crimes were committed on Chinese soil or against a Chinese national. The British no longer had to pay the stiff trading tariffs that had cut into profits. They also forced the imperial government to open five key ports for trade.
From 1898 to 1901 was the climax of anti-foreign hostility in China. A secret Chinese society called the Yihequan, or Society of the Righteous Harmonious Fists, was referred to as Boxers by Westerners. The Boxers attempted to drive Westerners out of China, but ultimately they were defeated by an expeditionary force composed of regiments from the United States, Russia, Great Britain, France, and Japan.
