ANEMIA: most common nutritional complication (300-500 mg goes to fetus)
Cardiovascular
Heartburn - common in latter part of pregnancy b/c inc. abdominal pressure
T: small meals, eat slow, chew more, avoid reclining p meal, loose clothes, PRN antacids
CONSTIPATION: caused by hormonal changes, Fe supplement, pressure from uterus...T: fiber, fluid, stool softner
GALL BLADDER - cholecystitis....T: IV fluid/NG suction
APPENDICITIS: not more frequent than normal, rupture occurs 2-3x more often due to misdiagnosis
HELLP ( hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet syndrome - occurs w/severe preeclampsia and eclampsia, in 3rd trimester, N/V, UQ pain, delivery essential, still birth frequent

URINARY FREQ.: cause - vascular engorgement of pelvis and hormonal changes, pressure on bladder

STRIAE: pinkish/purple lines on ab, butt, breast...inc activity of adrenal gland inc. occurance, heredity most common predictor..postpartum are silvery white and shrunken, rarely disappear, no remedy
