o Designated coursework in faith community nurse preparation at the baccalaureate or graduate level
o International Parish Nurse Resource Center (IPNRC) curriculum, which embraces 4 major concepts:
o Spiritual dimension, professionalism, wholistic health, and community
o A thorough grasp of the Scope and Standards of the practice
Activities/Functions of the Faith Community Nurse:
o Personal health counseling
o Health education
o Referral or liaison activities
o Facilitating groups
o Coordinating volunteer services/Integrating faith and health
o Health advocacy
