Pay attention, follow directions and think about what you are doing. Be responsible at all times.
Lab work can be done whenever needed whether the instructor is there or not.
When you're not sure of what to do, try to figure it out yourself
Do NOT eat, drink, or chew gum in the lab.
When an accident occurs, try to find the safety equipment and learn how to use them then.
Wear goggles when working with chemicals, glassware, and heat sources. Contact lenses should not be worn unless you have permission from the instructor.
Read the procedures while you're doing the lab.
When you are finished with a lab, leave the area.
Once you're done with your work, clean your work area thoroughly by turning off valves and putting away all materials.
Don't throw away solid materials in the sink. Chemical waste jars are used for chemicals that cannot go down the sink.

For chemicals that can be poured down the sink, pour into the sink and leave.
Return unused chemicals back into their original containers.
Ask for help when cleaning up broken glass.

When a chemical splashes into your eyes or skin, use the eyewash or safety shower for 20 or more minutes.
When inserting thermometers and glass tubing in a stopper, keep on shoving them in until they fit.
When a test tube is being heated, you should look into the open end of it and then allow your partners to look into it.
ALWAYS add acid to water.
You may walk away from your experiment when it's heating and/or reacting as long as you come back to see the final results.
When unplugging an appliance, dry your hands, turn the appliance off, then pull the plug.
Turn off and unplug power supplies before making circuit connections.
You may dress however you want during a lab as long as what you wear does not break the school clothing policy.
Tie long hair back, take off dangling jewelry, and don't wear loose or baggy clothing during a lab. Your shoes should completely cover your foot and be non-slip shoes.
If you are busy after the lab, you should leave immediately.
Hands should always be washed after completing a lab.
