Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka
1954- over ruled the Plessy v. Ferguson case saying that it was unconstitutional to have separates schools and classes for blacks and whites.
Dred Scott v. Standford
1857- a negro with African descent cannot be a US citizen regardless if they are free or not.
Miranda v. Arizona
1966- has to be read his or her rights before being questioned by the police.
Plessy v. Ferguson
1896- separate but equal but it was over ruled by brown v. Board of Education.
Was a slave who escaped from Maryland who than became an abolitionist. He wrote an autobiography to inform people of the life of a slave. 1818-1895
Harriet Beecher Stowe
1811-1896- she was a slave who later became an abolitionist. She wrote the famous book called Uncle Tom's Cabin.
War of 1812
1812-1815- a war against the USA against the United Kingdom. The USA did not like the trade restrictions placed by the United Kingdom. This resulted in no boundary change because everything was resolved.
Must be 25 years old and has been a US citizen for at least 7 years. The term lasts 2 years.

The USA was destined to have control over North America. It was an idea of imperialism. Many president rejected it bra use they didn't want to be imperialistic. 19th century.

The imaginary line of latitude, at approximately 23° south of the equator, that marks the point farthest south where the sun can be seen directly overhead.
The making of maps
Accurate depiction of the surface conditions of an area. Will use shading or other graphics to indicate physical features....shows physical landscape.
