Moving into digital trends and their impact in the global economy we will start by looking at the future of work.
Let's look at three key statistics and a short description of each.
I want to draw your attention to the 25% in the middle. In 3 short years, 1/4 of the United states workforce will be available on-demands w/ the rest of the world following a similar trend. You will be competing for critical skills everyday and if you don't get them your business will decline.
Customers have also changed a lot.
3 key numbers of how the customer experience is changing and why the numbers are important.
Take a look at the far left there has been an enormous growth in e-commerce. $14B of online transactions in a single day for the Alibaba Group.
In 2015 an online retailer managed a peak of $1B in just eight minutes!
Digital networks have also changed.
Factories, production processes and business has changed. We are no longer limited by materials and supplies available locally; we can get pretty much anything from anywhere in the world with careful planning and analysis. Having access to the right materials at the right time will make or break a company.
3 important numbers and their explanations.
By 2020 it is estimated that $1 trillion will change hands in Business to business e-commerce a year and 57% of that will be completed before the buyer talks to sales. SAP has what you need, we are ready.
Lastly, the importance of the Internet of things.
The IoT is a new idea but it has exploded and is going to change the world possibly even faster than the aforementioned trends.
These next statistics and their brief summary will help illustrate the major shift happening around us.
To give some context: that 400 trillion GB of data that will be produced from IoT devices in 2018 is enough to fill every single hard drive we had on earth just 10 years ago, two thousand-five-hundred times.
On the far right we see that 74% of the USA and European retail, healthcare, and manufacturing companies have already developed smart products.
SAP is ready and already working with our partners and customers to ignite this change.
Jessica will discuss why we are equipped to handle the transition.
