Navigation Acts
series of laws passed on the colonies by England. Outlawed using foreign ships to trade (eventually had to use British-made ships), all ships had to pass through British ports and pay taxes (stamp), certain items could be sold only to Eng (tobacco), and Eng. Set sale price for all goods—they paid what they wanted. Angered the American colonists, esp in NE, since these impacted them the most.
