Title Bar
Horizontal bar at the top of every window. Contains the control icon, sizing buttons and the name of the document or site.
Sizing Buttons
Minimize/Maximize/Close
Taskbar
Located across the bottom of the desktop.
Start
Located on the left side of the taskbar. Used to navigate through software.
Right Click
Used to access context sensitive menus. Keyboard Shortcut is F10.
Multi-Tasking
When you access and use more than one application at one time.
Notification Area
Located in the lower right corner of the taskbar. Consisting of icons that control time, volume, printing etc.
Recycle Bin
Storage area for deleted files that can be still be restored.
Network (mynetworkplaces)
Gives access to the network.
Dialog Box
Explains the available command options for you to review or change before executing a command.
Screen tip
Any on screen text displayed in a rectangular box when the user points the mouse at an object.
Active Window
The currently operational object or screen region.
Chevron
An up pointing arrow that indicates more icons are available.
