What is a pixel?
The smallest square of colour used to display an image on a computer.
What is a vector?
A mathematically calculated object composed of anchor points and straight/curved line-segments
What is the standard resolution for Web?
72 dpi (dots/pixels per inch)
What is the standard resolution for print?
300 dpi (dots/pixels per inch)
How do you clean up the edge of a rough selection?
By refining the edge (Ctrl.+Opt+R) and smoothing, feathering, and shifting the edge in or out
How do you fill your canvas with a solid colour?
With a solid fill layer or the paint bucket.
What is the advantage of using Layers?
layers allow one to edit and move parts of an image, and can hide or manipulate individual layers.
A newly created layer appears where?
Above the active selected layer.
How do you make artwork of one layer appear on another?
Move layers around to change stacking order. Click and drag the layer; or from the menu layer/arrange subcommand/select the desired position.
How to hide and show layers?
Click the eye on the layers panel.
What does holding shift while moving an image object do?
Moves it on a single vertical or horizontal axis.
What option changes the spacing between all the characters in a layer of text?

What file format is optimal for images that will have the best compression?
