A population based on age, race, gender, income level, and education level
Editorial
A section of the paper that is all about opinions

Up to the minute news and events that are reported immediately
Image Advertising
Promoting the image of a product or service, rather than promoting its functional attributes
Implied
Messages suggested or hinted at instead of being stated explicitly
Infomercials
An ad that mimics a regular T.V. program, usually lasting 30 minutes to an hour
Jingle
A catchy tune that promotes a product, usually containing rhyming and repetition
Logo
A symbol adopted by a company to identify itself and its products
Mass Media
Any tool or technology used for sending messages from a central source to many receivers
Media Formats
TV, Radio, Newspaper, APP, Film, Podcasts, Web Pages, Advertising, Blogs
Paparazzi
Agressive press corps, who competes for stories, usually of a sensational nature
Product Placement
Paying a movie or TV show to prominently display a company's product
Slogan
A short, memorable phrase used in an ad
Soft News
Background information or human-interest stories
Substantiate
To confirm or prove a point as being accurate
Syndication
When an author or owner of a work is able to sell it to another newspaper, radio or TV medium for money
Tabloid
A printed, online or TV news outlet that publishes sensationalist stories, most commonly found in magazines or shows like TMZ
Target Audience
An audience choosen based on region, age, demographics, or economic status because they are likely to buy a specific product
Testimonial
When a famous person or authority figure claims that a product is good
Wire Service
A news agency or organization that gathers news and transmits it to individual subscribing publisher
