Francisco Coronado
He led an expedition to find "The Seven Golden Cities." Although he does not find it, he does explore present day New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and Kansas. Men in his exploration are first Europeans to see the Grand Canyon.
Hernando de Soto
Helped conquer Peru. He explored Southeastern US and found Mississippi, but no city of Gold.
