Subject
Tells who or what the sentence is about.
-Example: Mrs. Carter, The black truck
Predicate
Tells something about the subject: what the subject is, what the subject has, or what the subject does.
-Example: Mrs. Carter [is the lady wearing a red hat.]
Titles of Complete Work
1. Capitalize first and last words, verbs, and any other important words
2. Underline the entire title
-Examples: books, entire newspaper/magazine, book of poems, full length play
Titles of Parts of Complete Works
1. Capitalize the first and last words, verbs, and any other important words
2. Place quotation marks around the title
-Examples: chapter titles, newspaper/magazine articles, single poem, songs
